New Vacuum Casting System Gives Designers Bigger Parts

A new vacuum casting system with increased resin capacity has been introduced to facilitate the production of thick wall section plastic prototypes. The new TR4/04 vacuum casting machine, uses two mixing robots to deliver 11kg of resin to a casting chamber of 750mm x 900mm x 750mm. This represents twice the casting capacity than previously available using a similar sized chamber, and will particularly benefit designers looking to increase section volumes on TV or computer housings, automotive parts, small domestic appliances and toys.

Vacuum casting remains the leading process for creating plastic prototype parts in as little as 24 hours - particularly those with highly complex geometry. Accurate, flawless castings can be produced using a range of MCP's casting resins which replicate the properties and appearance of a huge variety of end materials. Cost comparisons with conventional prototyping production methods also prove that overall savings of more than 95% can be achieved by vacuum casting.

The easily manoeuvrable TR4/04 is part of a range of easy to use Vacuum Casting Systems available from the MCP Group. Each incorporates PLC software control systems with touch screen operation to help users cut cycle times and eliminate human error.

MCP provides comprehensive training in the use and maintenance of all its systems, plus technical support to ensure consistent quality casting for customers.
